Stretch Marks and Scar Removal

It is very difficult to permanently remove stretch marks and scars; however, it is possible to reduce the appearance of them significantly with treatment.

Treatments then can be effective for both of these concerns are:

Harmony Laser Treatment

The Harmony laser has multi lasers offering a wide range of benefits; it can help with pigmented lesions, thread veins, skin rejuvenation, acne scar clearing and hair removal. It is a safe way to treat skin as it protects the outer layer of skin (the epidermis).

This is a relatively quick procedure as a full face can be treated in 30 minutes. However, it is usually recommended that people undergo two to four sessions at monthly intervals in order to achieve desired results.

Fraxel Skin Resurfacing

Fraxel skin resurfacing is a laser treatment that can be used to improve the appearance of wrinkles and lines, sun damaged skin on the face, the neck, shoulders and hands. This treatment can also reduce age spots, hyper-pigmentation, acne scars, surgical scars and improve texture, tone and pore size for overall skin rejuvenation.

This laser treatment works by targeting specific areas of the skin and deeply penetrating the dermis (the lower layer the skin that include collagen and elastin). This method treats small areas at a time; the microscopic laser infiltrates deep into the dermis and creates tiny wounds, which trigger the body's natural response (it remodels of collagen and elastin) to heal those wounds. New, healthy skin tissue replaces damaged skin tissue which results in fresher, more youthful looking skin. Because this treatment is so precise, the laser does not damage the skin surrounding problem skin areas which also helps the treated area heal quicker.

Obagi Blue Peel Skin Resurfacing

Obagi blue peel skin resurfacing can be used the neck, hands, chest, back, arms and legs as well as the face. It is a chemical peel made from a low concentration of the chemical tricholoacetic acid (TCA) and can improve the appearance and health of the skin. It works to remove dead skin cells and the skin's reaction to the blue base of the peel allows the surgeon to gain a good indication of individual skin requirements and personalize the amount of peels needed to achieve desired results.

Once the skin has healed from the peel it will allow new healthy skin tissues to form and create a rejuvenated and tightened appearance.

This treatment takes around 20 minutes and doesn't usually require sedation. At each level of the peel's process patients will feel a slight burning sensation for around 2–3 minutes and the doctor will often use a fan to reduce this sensation.

After the peel has been completed patients will be left with a bluish tint on the treated area which will wash off in 12 – 24 hours.

Cost:

Prices start from £200 depending on the area being treated.
