Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical method for the removal of fine lines, acne scars or sunspots in the skin. The microdermabrasion process involves micro crystals of aluminium oxide being gently blasted against the surface of the skin. The process not only leaves the skin feeling fresh and smooth, it also has the effect of stimulating collagen production in the skin, promoting natural growth.

Patients would usually require a number of microdermabrasion sessions in order for the desired results to be acheived. These individual sessions would normally be every 2-3 weeks, allowing the skin enough time to recover in between.

Microdermabrasion has become increasingly popular in recent years, and with the overall growth in skin treatments, this trend seems set to continue. Increasing numbers of surgeries and cosmetic clinics offer microdermabrasion as a standard part of their service, and with increasing numbers of skin clinics opening all the time, the accessibility of procedures such as microdermabrasion seems set to continue.

Costs of microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion costs can vary depending on the area which is to be treated, and the number of sessions required. Therefore it is always best to speak with a clinic as they will normally be happy to offer a free initial consultation to discuss your individual requirements.
