Hyperhidrosis / excessive sweating

Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating is a common disorder affecting many people. The condition is characterized by abnormally increased perspiration in excess of that required for regulation of body temperature.

In the past, the only effective method of preventing and controlling excessive sweating was by means of surgery; removal of the sweat glands. However, Botulinum Toxin (botox) now provides a popular, effective and non-surgical alternative.

The Botox works to relax the muscle under the arm pit and the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands causing sweating to reduce considerably. This procedure only takes around 20 minutes to complete and is effective almost immediately but it can take up to 2 weeks for patients to benefit from the full effects.

By injecting Botulinum Toxin (botox) into the area of concern (usually under the arm pit) excessive sweating is can be controlled for around 3 – 5 months.

For more information on this procedure all you have to do is ask our experts your question via the portal on the homepage. You can receive free, tailored advice relating to your individual needs within 60 minutes and there is no obligation.
