Brow lift Surgery

Brow Lift surgery aims to reduce wrinkles and remove loose skin on the forehead. This procedure will raise heavy, drooped brows to give patients a fresher, more revitalised look; eyes appear more open and less tired which results in an overall smoother, more youthful appearance.

This procedure can be extremely effective on its own but can also be combined with other facial rejuvenation surgeries like a Face Lift, Eye Bag Removal or just with Fillers and Botox.

The Surgery

The Brow Lift procedure involves an incision being made just behind the natural hairline which runs from ear to ear. The excess skin is then removed in order to tighten the forehead and reduce lines. The incision is then closed with stitches and, sometimes, staples.

This procedure is carried out under general anaesthetic and patients are required to stay in hospital for one to two nights. The recovery time is around 6 weeks, and patients are required to wear a support garment for the first few weeks to protect the area during the healing process.

Risks

As with all surgical procedures, there are always some risks involved and these can include:

  • Anaesthesia complications
  • Haematoma
  • Seroma
  • Infection
  • Loss of sensation

However, these risks are rare and regulatory pre-operation checks are carried out in order to reduce and prevent these conditions from materialising. Patients are also provided with a course of antibiotics as a precautionary measure after surgery.
