Arm Lift Surgery

Arm lift surgery is to remove excess skin that is sagging under your arms, this is called Brachioplasty surgery. It can come from dramatic weight loss or just with age. Commonly referred to as "bingo wings" this condition is difficult to improve with exercise alone.

Many people want this surgery as they feel uncomfortable to wear no top or swimming costumes on holiday, or for ladies to wear short sleeved tops or thin strappy dresses.

The surgery

This operation is done under general anaesthetic and would require an overnight stay in hospital. The incision is under the arm and depending on how much loose skin you have will determine how long the incision has to be. It can be as long as to just before your elbow from armpit or just tucked under the armpit. This will leave you with a permanent scar but it will fade over time.

We advise you take off 2 weeks for work and avoid any heavy lifting for 4 weeks. Driving is not advisable while you are healing either. You will find out your own personal directions on what you can and can't do after surgery at your consultations and checkups. These are good questions to make sure you ask at the consultation stage.
